GMB’s Ed Balls jokes he wants to have an ‘affair’ on Love Island spin-off show

Good Morning Britain presenter Ed Balls joked that he wants to have an “affair” and appear on the over 50s version of Love Island after celebrating his 25th wedding anniversary.

But things quickly took a turn after the former politician revealed that he would love to go on the reality show despite being married to his loving wife Yvette Cooper.

Initially, the 55-year-old hinted that he would love to present the show as he threw his name into the mix among other celebs fighting position including Ulrika Jonsson and Davina McCall.

When asked what requirements she would want in place for the future host of the series, the blonde bombshell warned that the presenter needed to be single and understand “modern-day dating”.

She explained: “If you’re hosting that programme, you should have a wealth of experience of modern-day dating which is very different from them old days when you used to actually see people in the pub.

“And yes, being single should be a pre-requisite," she added to which Ed clarified: “Oh I don’t want to present it, I want to go on it!”

Much to the shock of his co-host, Susanna turned to him and reminded him that dating on the show would be classed as an “affair”.

Before the presenting duo said farewell to Ulrika, Ed cheekily asked the former Gladiators presenter for a chat after the show.

He said: “If you like Ulrika, maybe after the show we can go over there for a conversation, I'll pull you for a chat.”
