Is the Rovers Return shutting down in Coronation Street? Jenny Bradley has big plans for the Weatherfield pub

THE Rovers Return could be in danger in Coronation Street as landlady Jenny Connor née Bradley has huge plans for the boozer.

So what’s she up to and is this the end of the Rovers as we know and love it? Here’s what we know…

Is the Rovers Return shutting down in Coronation Street?

First of all, don’t panic, it’s HUGELY unlikely that anyone would close down one of the places in the ITV soap that provides so much action.

Jenny has got plans for the watering hole, but more to expand it than to shut it down altogether.

The redhead – who’s played by Sally Ann Matthews – makes some plans to help with finances and talks to newcomer Ed Bailey about converting the pub into a B&B.

Is the Rovers Return going to be a B&B?

If Jenny has her way then it’s definitely on the cards but something tells us Johnny won’t be so easily convinced.

When he finds Ed measuring up daughter Kate’s room, he’s livid and wastes no time letting rip at Jenny.

He tells her, in no uncertain terms, that if she’s trying to make him choose between her and his daughter, then she will totally regret it.

He also lets her know he’s onto her making Kate feel uncomfortable living in the pub and thinks this might have something to do with Kate’s decision to leave Weatherfield with Imogen Pascoe.

Is this how Kate leaves?

It looks like it could be. Kate decides she needs to move on with her life after losing fiancée Rana Habeeb.

And her lust for living is piqued when ex-girlfriend Imogen tells her she’s going to travel the world.

Actress Faye Brookes revealed she was quitting her role as Kate earlier this year. Faye is reportedly moving to London with fiancé Gareth Gates.

A source said: “It’s an exciting and really emotional time for Faye as she’ll be saying goodbye to the soap in a couple of days.

“She’s had such an amazing time there but made the decision in April to leave at the end of her contract.

“Her last scenes won’t air until September but she won’t be on the set again after Friday. Everyone will be really sad to see her go.”

They continued: “Faye and Gareth think it’s the perfect time to put their other plans in motion so are leaving Manchester for London.

“Faye’s made no secret about wanting to be a stage star – and now could be her time.”

She has already won a role in panto and will be playing Snow White over Christmas.
