Kate Garraway was back on Good Morning Britain for the first time after her Christmas break.
The 53-year-old television star hosted Thursday's episode alongside co-star Ben Shephard as she revealed she was able to see her husband over Christmas.
Derek is still in hospital recovering after contracting a serious strain of coronavirus which left him in a medically-induced coma.
Kate revealed she did see Derek during the festive period, and her two children, Darcey and William, did too.
The media personality said the visit was "very heightened with emotion", as they saw Derek who had "changed" after his coronavirus battle.
When Ben Shephard asked how her Christmas was, the presenter explained: "Well it was tough wasn't it. It was tough for everybody."
She continued: "There was a lovely moment which we did have…we did over the period get to see Derek, and the children did so the was amazing.
"Of course, it was very heightened with emotion, because he's very changed."
