LEE Mead has announced he’s engaged to girlfriend Issy after six years of dating.

The couple shared their happy news on social media Sunday night, after Lee popped the question earlier that day.

In the picture, both Lee – who currently has a shaved head after undergoing a hair transplant – and Issy were beaming as she held her hand up to the camera, which sported a sparkling diamond ring.

"So this happened today, and my beautiful Issy said yes," Lee wrote alongside it. "We’re both so happy and can’t wait to spend forever together."

The couple were congratulated by Lee’s famous friends, with Bonnie Langford leading the charge as she said: “Massive congratulations and love xx”

“Oh mate. That’s amazing!!!!! Congrats to you both. X” added Dick and Dom.

Lee and Issy first got together in 2018 after meeting on the school run, with the West End star admitting he “had to pluck up the courage to ask her out”.

Lee was previously married to Denise Van Outen from 2009 to 2013, and they share a daughter, Betsy, aged 12.

The couple amicably split in June 2013, and were granted a “quickie divorce” two years later after both deciding the relationship had simply run its course.

They continue to co-parent their daughter together, and even celebrate major occasions together such as Christmas in order to keep things positive for her.

Issy also has an eight-year-old son from a previous relationship.

At the time of confirming their romance, Lee said in 2018: “She’s a lovely woman and she’s a parent as well, which I think helps. She’s based in Kent and she’s not in the same business as me; I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing!

“I’m not one to rush into relationships and I was single for six years, but it’s nice to have found someone.”

Lee first found fame on Andrew Lloyd Webber's TV talent show Any Dream Will Do in 2007 – winning the lead role in a revival of Joseph And His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.

Denise was a judge on the show at the time, and the pair confirmed their relationship shortly after the series ended.

He later went on to star in Casualty and Holby City as Ben ‘Lofty’ Chiltern, but left the series in 2019.
