LOVE Island viewers were left cringing tonight as Sharon was put in the 'sister zone' by Hugo.
The pair are in a friendship couple having put their fiery row from the previous week behind them.
Taking some time to chat in the garden, Hugo made it clear romance would never blossom between them.
He said: "If I'm completely honest with you I can't see there being anything romantic between you and me because I see you as a little sister in here now, and I think you're amazing and I want you to find someone that's 100 per cent you, and you definitely deserve that.
"I don't see you in that way and I don't think I ever could. As much as friendship couples are great and we have fun, it serves a purpose for the time being, but I don't want it to be my whole experience. I want to share this with someone.
"I don't want this to be your whole experience at all."
Viewers cringed over the awkward conversation, with one writing on Twitter: "Sharon got little sister zoned."
"I don't see you in that way and I don't think I ever could.
A second posted: "LMAOOO sharon didn’t even get friend zoned. MAN SAID LITTLE SISTER. that’s a whole other level."
Another said: "icl ive deeped it, sharon (miss international) got SISTER ZONED by the breadcrumbs of the villa."

It looks like Hugo could be gearing up for a partnership with new girl AJ.
The pair hit it off tonight and came very close to kissing on the terrace only for Hugo to tell her he didn't want to make a move so soon.
While it clearly wasn't what AJ wanted, the chemistry between them suggests she'll get another chance.
