'LPBW' Fans Aren't So Sure About Matt Roloff's Instagram Message on 'How to Be a Better Person'

Little People, Big World has been on television for nearly 15 years, and fans have watched a lot happen to the Roloffs over time. While Matt and Amy Roloff began their journey into reality TV as a married couple taking care of their four kids and Roloff Farms, the kids have since grown and the couple divorced. Now, Amy is looking for a new home, as she sold her half of the farm to Matt. And Matt is currently residing on the property with his girlfriend, Caryn Chandler.

We’re all looking forward to seeing Amy’s future as she moves away from the farm and what Matt will do with the property once it’s all his. But first, Matt added a text post on Instagram originally posted by Joe Rogan on how to be nice to others.

Matt Roloff stood up to internet hate in the past for himself and his family

Before Matt re-grammed Rogan’s text post, his Instagram followers can’t forget that he’s actually stood up to internet hate in the past. Since his divorce from Amy and controversy with Roloff Farms, both Matt and Amy received a ton of backlash from their social media followers. It seems many were picking sides — and while many supported Matt, they would then take to Amy’s Instagram to leave hateful messages. Matt and Amy may not be on the best of terms, but Matt let everyone know that he sees the shameful messages.

“Always take the high road.. block and delete those that don’t,” Matt captioned this text post that reads, “Weak people avenge, strong people forgive, intelligent people ignore.” For the hashtags, Matt also added, “#bitterpeoplearefools,” “#meanpeoplewasteprecioustime,” and “#nastyfolksneedtogethappy.” This isn’t the first time that Matt has addressed the hate, either, and it certainly won’t be the last.

He recently reposted a message on Instagram regarding bullying

As for Matt’s latest post against bullying, it seems he took some inspiration from Joe Rogan. “Special request to all you kids returning to school in the next few days,” the Instagram message starts. And it then continues on to suggest that if kids in school see someone “struggling to make friends” or acting shy or lonely, extend a nice gesture. “Say hi or at least smile at them in the hallway,” the post continues. “You never know what that person might be facing outside of school.”

“Important message … about how to be a better person ….,” Matt captioned the post. Many of Matt’s followers seemed to be on board with the sentiment behind what he was posting, too. “And that’s why I like you Matt! You do think of others in every way. Your not in here selling anything or promoting a book or business it’s just you being you and caring,” a fan commented.

Fans have differing opinions on the post

As noted before, some of Matt’s fans really like what he reposted and think he’s sending out a positive message. But others are in disagreement. Judging from the comments, it seems many don’t think Matt has any right to tell others how to treat people considering what Amy wrote about him in her memoir. According to Amy’s book, A Little Me, Matt was cheating during their marriage with his current girlfriend, and he also seemed to be quite demanding and controlling of how Amy conducted herself on the show.

“Ha ha ha you telling kids about being good people. You couldn’t be a good person if you tried,” one follower commented on Matt’s post. Another added, “Kindness goes along way, but unfortunately kids will be kids and somethings they can be very cruel,” another wrote. Finally, another added, “While this is a good sentiment. expecting children to solve the crisis facing young children today is absurd. Adults – model the behavior you want to see children express. Be kind, reach out, give.”

Even with the differing opinions on the post, it’s clear Matt hates bullying and wants everyone to treat each other with kindness and respect. And that’s a message fans of the show can certainly get behind.
