Amenadiel star D.B. Woodside has recently taken to Twitter to tease the highly anticipated return of Lucifer. With the next eight episodes of season five finally hitting Netflix next week, his latest post could be teasing an exciting cameo from one of the show’s key characters from its original run on Fox.
D.B. Woodside has fuelled fan theories with a tribute to his former co-star Tricia Helfer on Twitter.
Helfer played a major role in Lucifer’s second and third seasons as Charlotte Richards, the mortal vessel for the devil’s mother, Goddess.
Lucifer Morningstar (played by Tom Ellis) vanquished Goddess with Azrael’s Flaming Sword, though Charlotte was later resurrected and slain once again by Marcus Pierce (Tom Welling).
After she made a brief cameo in the series’ fifth season last year, fans are hoping the show’s popular guest star will reappear in the highly anticipated second part of Lucifer’s latest outing.
Woodside’s latest Twitter updates may have also increased the chances of Helfer making her surprise return in the next ten episodes.
The star recently posted a behind the scenes selfie of himself enjoying some downtime with Helfer in between takes.
He captioned the new pic: “Two things can be true.
“One, this is a #flashback photo with @trutriciahelfer and also, only TWO more weeks until Season 5B is released!”
Now with only ten days left before the next instalment finally hits screens, fan speculation has been at an all time high.
Now Woodside has shared a huge reminder of Tricia Helfer’s iconic role in the series, some ‘Lucifans’ have taken it as a sign of her eventual return.
Despite both of her character’s meeting their demise in the second and third seasons, Tricia Helfer returned to play a mysterious new character in season five’s 1940s-themed special.
Down in the comments, several of Woodside’s followers revealed their hopes for a cameo from Goddess/Charlotte Richards when episodes 1-9 air next Friday.

One fan wrote: “Mom/Charlotte is the funniest character! Hope she gets a cameo or something on 5b.”
And another replied: “I want to see Charlotte again because I miss her.”
Lucifer’s official Twitter page also added fuel to the ongoing theories.
Below Woodside’s new selfie, they cryptically responded: “*happy devil noises*”
Upon seeing their reaction, some fans took it to mean the series’ social media page is also in support of another Goddess appearance.
A final fan speculated: “Is the devil happy because he gets to see Charlotte again?”
Tricia Helfer has kept her lips sealed about her potential return so far, but luckily fans don’t have long to wait to find out if season five part two features a surprise cameo from Lucifer’s mother.
Lucifer Season 5, Part 2 will be released on Friday, May 28 on Netflix.
