The first season of Starz’ first Power spin-off, Book II: Ghost, concluded with the explosive return of Tommy Egan (played by Joseph Sikora). Although his time in New York seems to be coming to an end, Sikora recently took to Instagram Live and hinted he may eventually meet back up with Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr).

Power star Joseph Sikora has teased another reunion between his character Tommy Egan and his young rival, Tariq St. Patrick.

Although they were on relatively good terms through most of the main series, the pair faced off at the end of Book II after the death of Ghost (Omari Hardwick).

Tommy made a move to kill Tariq’s mother Tasha (Naturi Naughton) after being blamed for the murder, forcing her to move into Witness Protection.

In their dramatic final confrontation, Tommy promised Tariq they’ll never see each other again.

As the world of Power continues to expand, there was previously no sign of Tommy going back on his word.

The Starz series is currently in the early stages of filming its third spin-off, Book IV: Force.

This new offshoot will explore Tommy’s new life in Chicago after leaving New York behind him following the death of his best friend.

However, new comments from Joseph Sikora have indicated Tommy and Tariq’s feud is far from over.

During a recent Instagram Live session, he said: “I can’t tell you [if Tariq will seek out Tommy], but you know he’s definitely going to need uncle Tommy’s help at a point.”

As the wait for more Power content continues, the cast have been sharing a number of updates on their social media.

Sikora’s latest chat with the fans touched on Tommy and Tariq’s messy departure at the end of Book II, and it seems clear their paths will eventually cross again.

At the moment, it isn’t clear whether this will occur in a future season of Power: Book II, which is currently filming its second season, or in Tommy’s forthcoming series.

Tommy still harbours a grudge against the surviving St. Patricks after their actions in the last series, though, so another cameo in Book II may be more likely.

Sikora also suggested he doesn’t expect Tariq to purposefully go after Tommy, or vice versa.

Even so, Tariq will find himself even more in over his head with the Tejada family as his rocky alliance with Monet (Mary J. Blige) continues in season two.

With his mother being protected in an unknown location and Tommy in Chicago, Tariq’s newfound independence could either thrive or lead to his downfall in Book II’s second season.

Showrunner Courtney Kemp previously said: “In the second season, Tariq’s journey with the Tejada family will get even more complicated, and more dangerous, as he begins to understand the man he’s going to become.”

If Tariq has nowhere else to turn, he may have to take an impromptu trip to Chicago to seek help from his old mentor.

Book II has certainly proven the series isn’t against crossovers between spin-offs, so fans could expect even more Power cameos and special appearances down the line.

Power Book II: Ghost is available to watch on Starz and Starzplay.
