Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan announced that production has begun on the Disney Plus’ series, ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’
There’s some exciting news for Marvel fans. Thanks to an announcement from the actors themselves, production has begun on the Disney Plus series, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Avengers: Endgame actors Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie will reprise their roles as the title characters. Additionally, actress Emily VanCamp will be reprising her role as Sharon Carter in this exclusive series.
“I think it’s time for Bucky to go out there and have an identity outside of the circumstances that we’ve met him through,” Stan said of his character during an Italy convention. “So, I don’t know, he might do all kinds of things. He might even go on a date. I don’t know. Scary world out there, you know? Apps, things like that. I don’t know what he’s gonna do. I can’t see him on an iPhone… I think it’s gonna be a lot of dealing with Anthony’s character.”
‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ will be available on Disney’s streaming platform, Disney Plus
Although The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is still in production, Disney Plus will have plenty of content for fans to watch at its launch date, Nov. 12, 2019.
Films and television shows produced by Pixar, National Geographic, Lucasfilm, and Marvel Studios will all be available for streaming on Disney Plus. At its launch, movies like Iron Man, Captain Marvel, and Guardians of the Galaxy will be available for binge-watching. In December, the Marvel blockbuster, Avengers: Endgame, will be added to Disney Plus’ library.
‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ is not the only Marvel series coming to the streaming platform
The announcement of Bucky and Sam’s Disney Plus series came with news about other characters from the MCU. The Scarlet Witch and Vision will appear in their own television show on the platform, entitled WandaVision. Hawkeye’s original series premieres on Disney Plus in Fall 2021. A series starring Tom Hiddleston, Loki, premieres during Spring 2021.
Additionally, new characters will be joining the Marvel family, with exclusive shows and movies premiering on the streaming platform. That includes Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel. Disney Plus launches in the United States, Canada, Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand on Nov. 12, 2019.
The Disney Plus series, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, premieres sometime during 2020.
