WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Queen of the South.

Did King George die?

King George was a smuggler who was first introduced in season two of Queen of the South.

He was originally doing business with Camila Vargas (Veronica Falcon) but over time, has started to become more trusting of the Mendoza Cartel and so began doing work with Teresa.

So in series three, both Cortez (Yancey Arias) and Camila wanted to find out what they could about Teresa and what she was up to.

To try and get this information, they kidnapped King George and kept him somewhere which brought back bad memories.

King George had previously mentioned how his dad had died in a “nut house” and now Cortez and Camila had taken him to an asylum.

He agreed to give them what they wanted if they would take him away from there and bring his close friend Bilal (Iba Thiam).

Cortez does bring Bilal but King George quickly realised they had lobotomized him.

King George threatened he would get his revenge on Cortez and did in another episode where he killed him with a chainsaw.

In series four, as Teresa and George were running from Marcel Dumas’ (Alimi Ballard) men, his youngest recruit Tic Toc (Moses J Moseley) got hurt in the process.

George then shot him as a mercy kill so that he wouldn’t suffer.

After this, George wanted to start again and so, with Teresa’s blessing, he left New Orleans to have a new adventure in Belize.

He did invite Birdie (Chelsea Tavares) to join him on his travels but she declined as Teresa had agreed to help her set up her own bar.

This turned out to be a fatal mistake as she was later stabbed to death by Marcel.

Why did actor Ryan O’Nan leave?

King George is portrayed by actor, writer and producer Ryan O’Nan.

Besides from Queen of the South O’Nan has been in series such as Fargo, Person of Interest, Ray Donovan and The Unusuals.

Queen of the South has been his biggest onscreen role to date.

As well as starring in the series, O’Nan also acted as the co-producer for series three.

While O’Nan did play a key role in the crime drama, he left in season four to work on his Hulu series Wu-Tang: An American Saga.

The drama is set in New York City in the 90s where the crack cocaine epidemic was at its height.

The show follows the rise of the capital’s drug problem as well as the formation of the Wu-Tang Clan.

While O’Nan did leave Queen of the South, it doesn’t mean King George is definitely gone for good as his character wasn’t killed off.

So could King George make his comeback in season five?

Queen of the South is available to watch on Netflix.
