Radio 1 gets a new presenter to step in for Mollie King – and reality TV fans will be delighted | The Sun

JAMIE Laing has bagged a presenter job on Radio 1 – covering Mollie King's maternity leave.

The Made In Chelsea star has been announced as the new BBC presenter stepping in for pregnant Mollie who is set to give birth to her first child.


Jamie, 33, shared the news on Instagram and said: "This is FREAKING exciting – he’s only gone and got himself a BBC Radio 1 Job 🙌🤯!!

"I will be covering the amazing Mollie King’s slot on Radio 1 while she’s on maternity leave. Matt Edmondson I hope you’re ready for me!!"

Sam Thompson was the first MIC co-star to congratulate him and said: "Only the beginning my man!! 🙌"

Georgia Toffolo said: "Omg this is amazing well done J!!!!"

And Proudlock shared: "My bro! Very proud 🚀❤️‍🔥"

Matt Edmondson added: “I’m going to miss Mollie so much whilst she’s on ‘Matt Leave’, and although she is literally irreplaceable, we are going to temporarily replace her.

"All I asked for was someone funny, blonde, and a little bit posh, and the universe delivered in the shape of Jamie Laing!

"I’m a huge fan of Jamie’s and I’m so pleased he’s agreed to step in and co-host the show with me after several begging emails."

Jamie currently presents three podcasts including the 6 Degrees from Jamie and Spencer for BBC Sounds and most recently hosted the BBC Three show I Like The way U Move.
