Spoilers: EastEnders twist as Ian forges Kathy's signature to re-mortgage cafe

Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) took drastic action in EastEnders tonight (October 30) after he made a shock discovery, as he forged mum Kathy’s (Gillan Taylforth) signature to re-mortgage the cafe.

Ian has been desperately doing whatever he can in order to get his hands on some money to pay Max Branning (Jake Wood) back.

Viewers will know that the used his business partner’s share of the restaurant to buy The Queen Vic for Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), but after lockdown, the pub isn’t turning a profit, which has left him in a dire financial situation.

In tonight’s episode, he promised to help Bobby (Clay Milner Russell) with his ‘Lucy Beale Foundation’ project, but his lack of interest soon came to light when he refused to get off his phone.

Ian was delighted to hear that he was selected as chair of the planning committee, but his smile soon faded when Kathy railed at him over missing the appointment she’d made with the solicitor regarding their wills.

Kathy organised all the paperwork, and therefore all Ian had to do was sign, but he got quite the shock when he discovered that his mum has a lot more money than he has.

After Kathy had exited the house, Ian was seen attempting to forge his mum’s signature, and once he perfected it, he signed a document, and thus it became apparent that he was attempting to re-mortgage the cafe behind her back.

Will Kathy discover what Ian is up to?
