The One Show viewers fuming as winning dish for Coronation is confirmed

The One Show viewers were left fuming as the programme made a huge Coronation detail reveal.

As part of a competition on the BBC One magazine programme, five champions from Masterchef and The Great British Menu were invited to make a new recipe for The Big Lunch as part of the celebrations for the Coronation.

Former Great British Bake Off Judge Mary Berry took to the airwaves alongside presenters Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas to reveal the winning dish.

Former Masterchef: The Professionals finalist and Great British Menu 2023 champion Adam Handling was crowned the winner for his chicken pie.

The recipe will be distributed to thousands of homes across the country to serve alongside The King's Coronation Quiche in an effort to "brings neighbours and communities together to share friendship, food and fun."

However, some viewers were not happy with the choice of dish, as they took to social media to share their disgust.

One said: "Absolute fix that chicken pie was sloppy. The fried chicken sarnie with mango was epic. !!"

Another wrote: "You know I’m just not feeling it."

Meanwhile, a third penned: "Well that was disorganised chaos … and the winner distinctly underwhelmed. And certainly not cooking that!"

Whilst a fourth noted: "It's a big pie with chicken. How did he think of that?"

A fifth exclaimed: "Chicken pie?!?"

And a sixth viewer commented: "The #ChickenPie wins. Omg who would have guessed?"

Despite not meeting the tastebuds of some viewers, other fans of the show were absolutely delighted with the news and were quick to personally congratulate the chef online.

One fan wrote: "YAY Good ole Adam !!!" alongside a string of hand applause emojis.

A second concurred: "Winner winner, Chicken Pie for dinner."

Meanwhile, a third viewer exclaimed: "Congratulations #AdamHandling."
