Try ‘The Pioneer Woman’ Ree Drummond’s Peach Dumpling Recipe

If you’re looking for a sweet and healthy dessert, peaches are a great choice. The Pioneer Woman star Ree Drummond has a delicious recipe for peach dumplings. Drummond says this recipe is another version of her apple dumpling recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans crescent rolls
  • 16 whole frozen peach slices
  • 1 ½ stick (3/4 cup) butter
  • 1 ¼ cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ground cinnamon, for sprinkling
  • 1 can sprite, 7-up, or mountain dew
  • extra butter, for the pan
  • whipped cream, for serving

Directions

2. Melt the butter, then add sugar and stir lightly. If you’re a fan of Drummond, then you know that no recipe of hers is complete without butter—lots of butter. This recipe calls for 1 ½ sticks of butter.

3. Add vanilla, stir once or twice, then pour the mixture over the rolls and peaches in the pan.

4. Pour 3/4 of a can of Sprite around the edges and in the middle of the pan. Drummond says you can also use 7-Up, or Mountain Dew. However, Drummond usually uses Mountain Dew for the apple version of this recipe. “The apple version uses Mountain Dew. For the peach version, I decided to use Sprite. Call me crazy and unpredictable!” wrote Drummond on her blog.

5. Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Take the peach dumplings out the oven and let them sit 10 minutes before serving.

Serving recommendation: Drummond recommends servingthe peach dumplings with ice cream or whipped cream. You can also spoon some ofthe sauce from the pan and drizzle it over the top of the dumplings. It’s awinning combination your friends and family will surely enjoy.
