Janette Manrara took to social media last night amid the launch of Strictly Come Dancing 2021 to thank everyone for support and kindness over the years. The professional dancer, who joined the line-up in 2013, bid an emotional farewell to the main show months after landing a presenting role on It Takes Two following Zoe Ball’s departure.
Janette celebrated “8 wonderful years” on Strictly in an emotional Instagram update.
Alongside her post she shared pictures showing the pro dancing with her celebrity partners over the years.
She went on to praise her husband Aljaž Škorjanec, who continues to star on the BBC show.
The 37-year-old said the pair had experienced “moments of pure magic” when performing together on the Strictly dance floor.
Over the course of her time on Strictly, Janette was partnered with fashion designer Julian McDonald, EastEnders star Jake Wood, TV personality Peter Andre, DJ Melvin Odoom, JLS singer Aston Merrygold, Dr Ranj Singh, Paralympian Will Bayley and singer HRVY.
She made it all the way to the final in last year’s series with the musician.
Alongside her nostalgic snaps, she wrote: “8 wonderful years on @bbcstrictly, w/ 8 wonderful partners whom I am lucky enough to call my friends still to this day.
“My heart is full of beautiful memories and so much joy.
Janette continued: “I wish all of the celebs and pros and the entire #Strictly team the best of luck for this series!
“It has been such an honor to be a part of it these past few years. But I’m not going far! #ItTakesTwo is my new home and I cannot WAIT to celebrate the AMAZING 2021 series!(sic)
“Thank you for the incredible support & love that everyone has given me while on @bbcstrictly always! You’re kindness through out the years was always so grandly appreciated.(sic)

A follow-up post included a video of Janette dancing with her husband Aljaž, 31.
Beside it wrote: “And to my beautiful husband @aljazskorjanec, I could not have had more beautiful moments of pure magic w/ you on that @bbcstrictly dance floor…..
“Thank you for always being the best dance partner and the best life partner I could have ever asked for…
“I love you,” she added, in view of her 446,000 followers.
Last night, Strictly viewers saw Aljaž partnered up with Dragon’s Den star Sara Davies.
Following the announcement, the professional dancer took to social media to tell fans that he was “beyond excited” for the upcoming series.
“I can finally shout it from the top of my lungs! I will be the best possible plus 1 to @saradaviescc!!
“Beyond excited that my ninth season I will be training up north. We have started working on our first dance already and I am just over the moon with how lovely and talented Sara is.
“I am just LUCKY!!! Let’s do this PARTNER!! I promise I’ll make you proud!” he added.
