Molly-Mae Hague's appearance on a podcast has angered some fans of the fashion influencer.
The Love Island star, 22, made some controversial comments about social mobility which many people have since criticised.
Molly-Mae spoke to Dragon's Den businessman Steven Bartlett on his podcast The Diary of a CEO in December last year.
A clip for the interview then went viral on Thursday and, in the segment, Molly-Mae said: "'You're given one life and it's down to you what you do with it. You can literally go in any direction."
Molly-Mae was talking on the podcast as a creative director of retail company PrettyLittleThing. The deal reportedly earned the star a seven figure deal when the agreement was announced last August.
During the episode, the creative director continued: "When I've spoken about that in the past I have been slammed a little bit, with people saying "it's easy for you to say that because you've not grown up in poverty, so for you to sit there and say we all have the same 24 hours in a day is not correct." But, technically, what I'm saying is correct. We do."
The reality star, who spent New Year's Day in New York with 22 year old boyfriend Tommy Fury, added: 'I understand we all have different backgrounds and we're all raised in different ways and we do have different financial situations, but I think if you want something enough you can achieve it."
"It just depends on what lengths you want to go to get where you want to be in the future. And I'll go to any length," she explained.
The 2019 Love Island contestant then declared: "I've worked my absolute a**e off to get where I am now."
Her statement was shared on Twitter by @tsrbys under the comment: "If you're homeless just buy a house."
The short video has been liked nearly 30,000 times and sparked fury and criticism online as followers reacted to the interview.
While some agreed with her mindset, many slammed her for failing to understand the privileged background she comes from compared to others who have to work twice as hard.
One of the tweets quoting the viral clip read: "I should've put Molly-Mae being Margaret Thatcher with a fake tan on my 2022 bingo card."
One user tweeted: "She literally just went on a TV dating show and got brand deals, I'm not sure she 'worked here a**e off'."
Another reasoned: "Her immaturity is showing. If you come from a place of privilege you should work extra hard to educate yourself on the hardships of others."
Molly-Mae, who is a regular video blogger, has not yet publicly responded to the video going viral on Thursday.
