Mugen Livens up the Honda Civic Hatchback With Faux Carbon, Rims, and a Sports Exhaust

Honda unveiled the 2022 Civic Hatchback with little fanfare, but that hasn’t stopped the marque’s best friend, Mugen, from spicing the car up a little bit.

While Mugen’s take on the new hatchback is far from the Mugen RR or last year’s Civic Type R, the additions do make for a much tastier-looking and feeling car. For example, Mugen offers a stainless steel exhaust with chrome-tipped finishers that’s been specifically developed for a sportier note, as well as a new radiator cap and oil filter, Type S-branded brake pads and upgraded brake rotors and braided brake lines, and of course, a host of visual tweaks too.

As for aesthetics, Mugen offers a black front bumper lip spoiler, matching side skirts, a rear diffuser-style bumper add-on, and a rear spoiler that’s akin to a ducktail style, as well as new door mirror cowls, carbon fiber-style decals for the grille and rear bumper, and finally, window deflectors. Rounding out the list of upgrades is a set of 18” rims that are finished with Mugen’s signature branding.

All of the upgrades can be seen on the display car above and purchased from Mugen’s online store.

Elsewhere in the automotive world, BMW has fitted its iX with speakers that feature real diamonds in them.
