Lady Gaga’s ‘A Star Is Born’ Costars Were at Her Intimate NYC Concert Last Night

Last night, Lady Gaga put on a super-intimate, invite-only concert at New York City’s Apollo Theatre, and while I am sad to report that Bradley Cooper was NOT in attendance, two of her other A Star Is Born costars were: drag queens Shangela and Willam!

After the concert, Shangela took to Instagram to share just what seeing Gaga meant to her, writing, “Every time. EVERY. TIME. that I see @LadyGaga perform, it inspires me to push forward, continue Werqin, create more content that touches people, and forever cherish my fans….I had soooo much fun…and I have to pinch myself whenever u sing ‘SHALLOW.’ Y’all, some days I’m like, ‘Am I reallllly in that film?!’ So cool. And how cool to be there with my costar @Willam and so many friends hearing Gaga go in!”

The show, celebrating the merge of SiriusXM and Pandora, was of course packed full of other A-listers as well, including Camila Mendes, Amy Poehler, Neil Patrick Harris, and Adam Lambert.

It was the first time Gaga performed at the iconic theater and her first time performing in her hometown in almost TWO years. During her set, she also spoke about the 50th anniversary of Stonewall, which will be celebrated this weekend at World Pride in NYC.

Everytime. EVERY. TIME. that I see @ladygaga perform it inspires me to push forward, continue Werqin, create more content that touches people, and forever cherish my fans. Thank u LG for putting your heart into tonight’s intimate show in NYC at the Apollo Theatre. I had soooo much fun… and I have to pinch myself whenever u sing SHALLOW. Y’all, some days I’m like “am i reallllly in that film?!” So cool. And how cool to be there with my costar @willam and so many friends hearing Gaga go in! Check my IG story for More! “That was when our community said enough is enough and all hail to so many, including Miss Marsha P. Johnson,” she said. “What bravery, what courage. In this spirit of acceptance, the spirit of tolerance, the spirit of courage to be seen as you see yourself.”

She continued by showing appreciation to her fans: “I have learned so much over the years from all of my fans. I feel so blessed. Thank you for showing me and teaching me.”

So yes, everything seemed perfect. And yes, you probably wish you were there. BUT we have “The Cure” (sorry) for your FOMO: The concert will be airing on SiriusXM and Pandora this weekend. Thank goodness.
