Chrissy Teigen's husband John Legend seen for the first time following the tragic death of their baby boy

CHRISSY Teigen's husband John Legend has been spotted for the first time in public following the tragic death of their baby Jack.

The supermodel announced that they lost their baby following pregnancy complications on Wednesday.

The 41-year-old singer was spotted outside of a grocery store in Los Angeles on Friday.

He wore a long sleeve yellow shirt with a black horse and the word "Gucci" written across the front, which he paired with black pants and matching sneakers.

John also sported a black face mask and dark sunglasses as he carried bags of groceries to his car.

Chrissy shared the tragic news in an emotional Instagram post.

Accompanied by a series of heart-rending black and white photos of her grieving in hospital, Chrissy wrote: "We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before.

"We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough."

The 34-year-old model shared that she and John – who have two children, Luna, 4, and Miles, 2 – already named the son that they lost.

She continued: "We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital.

"But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack. So he will always be Jack to us.

"Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever."

After apologizing to Jack for not being able to provide "the home you needed to survive," Chrissy thanked her friends and followers for their support during her time in the hospital.

She also acknowledged what she is grateful for in her life, including her two children.

Chrissy later tweeted on the same night: "Driving home from the hospital with no baby. How can this be real."

Chrissy- who announced her pregnancy in August- had been keeping her fans up to date throughout her pregnancy and previously told her Instagram followers: "I was always, always bleeding.

"I'm about halfway through pregnancy and the blood has been going on for a little less than a month.

"More than a period, girls, and definitely not spotting."

She previously shared that her third pregnancy was unexpected and she "didn't think" she was able to get pregnant naturally, as Miles and Luna were conceived through IVF treatments.
