Danielle Armstrong thanks Ferne McCann for 'saving her vagina' during the birth of baby daughter Orla

DANIELLE Armstrong has credited her best friend Ferne McCann for "saving her vagina" during childbirth.

Danielle, 32, welcomed her first baby – a daughter called Orla Mae – five months ago and claims Ferne saved her from any long-term issues.

In Ferne's own reality show, Ferne McCann: First Time Mum, the former Towie stars were seen discussing whether Danielle tore during Orla's birth.

The blonde star told Ferne: "I'd done my pelvic floor but I didn’t even tear. She was 8lbs 11, bear in mind, and I had a natural and I didn't tear.

"But I'd done the thing…the perineal massage."

Earlier in the year, Ferne was seen on the ITVBe show telling Danielle to massage the area between her vagina and bottom to stretch out her muscles.

After hearing she followed her advice, Ferne said: "I’ve basically saved your vagina."

Danielle admits to her BFF: "You have saved my vagina. You are the vagina saviour.

"Everything is back to normal. We're all good there."

The girls then chinked glasses while sat in Danielle's garden, toasting a "cheers" to Danielle's vagina.

Danielle and her fiancé Tom Edney became parents to Orla in May.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Danielle spent the first part of her 72-hour labour in hospital on her own.

Tom was then able to join her at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford, Essex, once things were established.

Recalling Orla's birth in a YouTube video, Danielle was later seen discussing her request to midwives for an epidural.

"I ended up with an epidural, demanding it, weren't I?" she said.

Danielle added: "I was screaming for it."

Tom also revealed: "I ended up down at the war zone at one point, I've seen everything."
