Who is in the cast of Deceit?
Niamh Algar
Algar plays an undercover London cop, Sadie Byrne codenamed ‘Lizzie James’, who is tasked with getting a confession from a suspected killer.
Deceit focuses on the operation, codenamed Operation Edzell, which went catastrophically wrong.
Algar’s character gives a unique view into honey trap operations.
Algar has starred in Pure, The Virtues, Raised by Wolves, and The Bisexual.
Eddie Marsan
Eddie Marsan plays Paul Britton, the most famous criminal profiler in the country.
He is recruited to help Sadie prepare for her undercover operation.
Marsan has starred in many film favourites, like The World’s End, The Gentlemen and Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw.
He was also in the acclaimed film Tyrannosaur, acting alongside Olivia Colman.
Nathaniel Martello White
Baz is Sadie Byrne’s confidant.
Sadie confides in Baz about her undercover operation.
White has starred in dramas including I Hate Suzie, Silent Witness and Kiri.
He also starred in the historical drama film, Small Axe: Magrove which co-star Rochenda Sandall also starred in.
Rochenda Sandall
Rochenda Sandall is no stranger to the true crime scene, having been in Line of Duty, Criminal she also starred in the film Small Axe: Mangrove.
Sandall portrays Lucy, a fellow female undercover cop.
Her character is a close friend and colleague to Sadie.
Sion Daniel Young
As the drama Deceit opens, Colin Stagg, played by Sion Daniel Young, is the suspected killer.
Police only have circumstantial evidence to link Stagg to the high profile case.
Young is best known for Keeping Faith, where he plays Gareth.
He has also starred in shows including Doc Martin and Hinterland.
Harry Treadaway
Detective Inspector Keith Pedder, played by Harry Treadaway, leads the investigation into the murder of Rachel Nickell.
Treadaway is best known for playing Narek in Star Trek.
He has also starred in The Crown, The Lone Ranger and Penny Dreadful.
When is Deceit out?
The gripping four-part drama is out on August 13 at 9pm on Channel 4.
