Little Mix send their love to Jesy Nelson saying 'you are missed' after hosting MTV's EMAs without her

LITTLE Mix sent their love to Jesy Nelson, telling her that she was "missed" as they hosted the MTV EMAs without her.

The 29-year-old beauty was forced to skip the glitzy ceremony due to sickness, having also opted out of last night's final of the band's BBC talent show The Search.

Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall, and Perrie Edwards presented the music spectacular without a hitch this evening, also performing and winning two out of the four gongs they were nominated for.

Although the events went by without a hitch Jesy was understandably on their minds, and when they won the Best Pop award they gave their absent pal a shout-out.

Leigh-Anne said: "We just so wish our girl Jesy was here to receive this with us, she'd be so happy!"

The girl group also won the Best UK & Ireland Act before each paying tribute to Jesy when they took to Instagram after the show.

Sharing a series of pictures from the night, Jade gushed: "Years ago we dreamed of even being invited to the @mtv EMAs. Tonight we hosted the show, performed and won 2 awards ? the only thing missing was our Jesy ♥️

"Thank you so much to all of our fans who voted and to @mtvema for having us ✨"

Perrie added on her own page: "What a DREAM come TRUE. To our amazing fans THANK YOU. Thank you for EVERYTHING you do.

"We hosted, performed and won TWO AWARDS all thanks to you. Wish our girl Jesy coulda been there! Thanks @mtvema for having us! ✨"

Leigh-Anne echoed: "Hol up?? Did someone say two EMA awards? ? I can't believe we hosted, performed and then to top it all off you guys won us TWO EMA's!

"Where would we be without our mixers???? You guys are truly the best fans anyone could ever ask for!

"We just so wish Jesy could have been there too! ❤️ thank you so much @mtvema for having us ?❤️"

Yesterday, a spokesman for the band confirmed in a statement: "Jesy is unwell and will not be appearing on tonight’s final of Little Mix The Search.

"She will also not be hosting or performing at tomorrow’s MTV EMAs."

The news came just one day after the group released their sixth studio album, Confetti.

Jesy had also appeared alongside her bandmates on the semi-final of The Search on Friday evening, which was pre-recorded last Saturday.

Fans were left in tears as they watched Little Mix perform without her on last night's final and they flocked to Twitter to send their well-wishes to the absent star.

Host Chris Ramsey told viewers at the start of the show: "Unfortunately Jesy is unwell tonight so won't be joining us, but she will be rooting for all of the bands from home."

In October, Little Mix expressed their excitement at hosting the EMAs, which will take place in several locations around Europe due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

They said at the time: "What an honour! To present the MTV EMA’s is a dream, it's such a special event.

"We've always loved watching the spectacular performances and seeing who everyone has voted to win.

"This year we'll also be performing our new single Sweet Melody, our second EMA performance.

"The show will go on and we can’t wait."
