Love Island 2019: Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague dealt cruel blow ahead of final?

The boxer and the social media influencer are in a fully-fledged relationship and have even confessed their love for each other on the ITV2 contest.

Plenty of Love Island viewers are invested in their coupling and they have long been the odds on favourites.

However, the new romance between Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard could put a stop to that.

The final is just under two weeks away with one couple set to win the series and the £50,000 cash prize.

While Maura’s odds of triumphing previously stood at 10/1, Betway has revealed they have now been slashed to 5/1.

A spokesperson for the bookies said: “Tommy and Molly-Mae have been Love Island’s closest pair for some time now but punters are also taking a shine to Maura.

“Her budding new relationship with Curtis could steal the prize and they’ve been backed into 5/1 from 10/1 to win the series.

“Tommy and Molly-Mae remain favourites at just 1/3, but there’s plenty of momentum behind Curtis and Maura with a little under two weeks to go.”

Could Maura pip Molly-Mae and Tommy to the post for a last minute win?

Curtis was previously torn between Maura and new girl Francesca Allen.

But he finally made up his mind in last night’s episode as he decided to take things further with Maura.

Taking her to the terrace for a chat, Curtis revealed he wanted to pursue things with her before the pair shared a smooch.

The dancer said: “I’ve made my decision. Every single conversation we have had…I feel myself getting drawn closer and closer and closer to you.”

“You look absolutely gorgeous all the time, there are so many reasons I would like to move things forward with you,” he added.

Curtis was then faced with breaking the news to Francesca that he’d be going with her competition.

He declared: “I’ve felt myself drifting closer to Maura, I wanted to speak to you straight away tonight to let you know I think you are an amazing person and I would love to be your friend.”

Francesca appeared to take the setback gracefully as she accepted being turned down.

“It’s fine, honestly. How could you not like Maura,” Francesca said before going on to point out Maura’s “sex appeal”.

She later said in the Beach Hut: “Obviously I’m not feeling amazing, I kind of had a feeling.

“It’s not nice when someone tells you they don’t like you when you like them.”

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
