Married At First Sight Australia’s Dan in court charged with fraud over multi-million telemarketing investment scam

MARRIED At First Sight Australia star Daniel Webb has been charged with fraud as part of a multi-million dollar scam.

The 36-year-old, who married Tamara Joy, 29, on the TV experiment has appeared in court over the charges, a New Zealand news outlet has reported.

Reality star Dan is one of 11 people facing a committal hearing over the alleged multi-million dollar telemarketing scam.

The MAFS groom, nine men and one woman have been charged with fraud, with some of the participants also facing money laundering charges.

About 500 people are listed to be called as witnesses for the trial – where the prosecution will argue the scam collected $24 million.

Police first started investigating the cold-calling scheme in 2013, linking Daniel to the crimes, seeing him appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court.


Car broker Daniel rose to fame recently on the Australian series of Married At First Sight, marrying brunette beauty Tamara.

The show, which was first filmed in Australia in 2018 but is only airing in the UK now, had viewers hooked as Dan Webb embarked on an affair with fellow contestant Jessika Power behind Tamara's back.

Jessika had been paired with Mick Gould, but soon realised she had feelings for Dan instead and the pair initiated the affair.

In an unexpected twist to the show, the experts allowed Dan and Jessika to continue on the show as a couple – but split after the show.

Dan is thought to be in a new relationship with model Amira Marotous – who he was pictured getting close on a trip to Queensland.

Taking to Instagram, the former rugby player shared photos of their romantic getaway.

Meanwhile, ex-wife Tamara showed off her nose job after undergoing rhinoplasty shortly after the series ended.

The star shocked fans with her transformation, which happened shortly after exiting the show which saw her cheated on.
