What Claire Fraser moment is Caitriona Balfe most proud of?

Claire and Jamie Fraser (played by Sam Heughan) have had to deal with a lot in the five seasons of Outlander.

From assaults to major goodbyes, each character has faced challenges and fans have loved following their story in the drama.

So many were excited to hear from the actors behind the roles in a special interview recently.

Speaking as part of the final outing in the End of Summer series, Balfe was asked some questions by fans.

Alongside her co-star Heughan, she was asked what moment she was most proud of.

The star said: “I don’t know that you ever leave any scene thinking ‘ta dah!’

“[But] there’s one scene when we did – that dance to the stones at the end of season two.

“Sometimes when you’re really lucky, everything conspires to work in your favour.

“I think we arrived on set that day and it was like somebody had Disney-fied the set.

“There was this dusting of snow but it was a beautiful day.

“You and I were sort of talking about how we didn’t quite know what we were going to do.

“Then we just sort of figured it out. It doesn’t feel like it’s me doing it, it just feels like it happened.

“But I think that’s one scene which I think really sang and all the crew were like ‘wow.’”

Heughan also revealed what he thought about the moment, adding: “It was really magical wasn’t it?”

Fans of the show will know exactly what scene the pair are talking about as it was one of the most heart-wrenching moments of the whole series so far.

Taking place at the end of season three, this was the moment Jamie and Claire said goodbye to each other.

The pair had to part ways when Claire was pregnant and Jamie was facing the upcoming Battle of Culloden.

As a result, the pair headed back to the stones and Claire travelled to her own time.

They would be parted for decades after this moment so fans were particularly moved by seeing them together for one final time before their split.

Both stars will be returning again in the sixth season of the show, which has been greenlit by Starz.

Filming was hoped to begin earlier in 2020 but was placed on hold after the outbreak of coronavirus COVID-19.

No official start date for production has yet been confirmed but fans are hoping it will be back soon.

Balfe gave a quick update during the interview, telling fans: “We’re really excited to hopefully get back to work soon and we just want to say that we really appreciate all the support.

“We’re going to work really hard to make season six the best one yet.”

Outlander seasons 1-5 are available to stream on Amazon’s Prime Video now.
