Who is in the cast of Mandy on BBC Two?

MANDY was received very well by viewers when the original shorts were aired in 2019.

The wait is over to watch the full show, as the quirky comedy is continuing on BBC Two TONIGHT (August 27).

What is Mandy about?

Mandy is a new BBC Two comedy series that follows the life and times of Mandy Carter.

An official synopsis for Mandy says: "Comedy film by Diane Morgan (Philomena Cunk) about Mandy, a woman who really wants a sofa, and will stop at absolutely nothing to get it.

"Have you ever seen a sofa you like in a shop window and really wanted it? Wanted it so much you can’t stop thinking about it? Wanted it so much you feel physically sick?

"Wanted it so much that nothing else in your life matters and you would do anything, literally anything to get it, no matter the cost?"

Who is in the cast of Mandy?

Diane Morgan not only wrote and directed the comedy show, but she also stars in it as the titular character.

Diane Morgan

Diane Morgan plays Mandy, a woman who will stop at nothing to get what she wants.

Diane is better known for her comedy persona Philomena Cunk, who she played on Charlie Brooker's Weekly Wipe.

Morgan has also starred in Motherland and After Life.

Michelle Greenidge 

Michelle Greenidge plays Lola, Mandy's friend in the nail bar who she often confides in.

Greenidge has previously worked with Diane in After Life.

She has also appeared in I May Destroy You, Small Axe, and Sky One's comedy Code 404.

David Bradley

David Bradley is yet another After Life actor who has been cast in Mandy.

Bradley is certainly Hollywood royalty, best known for starring in Harry Potter and Game of Thrones.

He has also appeared in Doctor Who, Mount Pleasant and The Strain.

Maxine Peake 

Maxine Peake, best known for her episode of Alan Bennett's Talking Heads where her character talks about her encounter with her new foot doctor, will appear on the show.

She originally shot to fame as Twinkle in Dinnerladies where she acted alongside comedian Victoria Wood.

Peake has also previously starred in Black Mirror, Silk, Shameless, and The Village.

Michael Spicer

British writer and performer Michael Spicer will guest star in Mandy.

He is best known for his satirical YouTube videos.

Spicer wrote the political parody novel The Secret Political Adviser: The Unredacted Files of the Man in the Room Next Door.

Akemnji Ndifornyen

Akemnji Ndifornyen is a British actor, writer, composer and producer.

Ndifornyen is best known for playing young Niccolò Machiavelli in the BBC series Leonardo.

In 2019, he was awarded a BAFTA for his work on the BBC comedy series Famalam.

Iain Lee

British broadcaster and writer Iain Lee will guest star in Mandy.

Lee was the lead presenter on satirical comedy show The 11 O'Clock Show on Channel 4.

He has also appeared on Good Morning Britain, I'm A Celeb (2017), Thumb Bandits, Bit On The Psych, The Wright Stuff, This Morning, and The Late Night Alternative.

Natalie Cassidy

EastEnders' darling Natalie Cassidy is set to make an appearance on the comedy.

Natalie proved herself to be a talented comedy actress when she starred in BBC Two horror-comedy Psychoville.

Cassidy has also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing and Big Brother.

When is Mandy on BBC Two?

Mandy continues on BBC Two on Thursday, August 27, at 9.30pm.

The series is made up of six episodes and they are all 15 minutes long.

The series first made its debut as a Comedy Short on the BBC in 2019. It was met with such great acclaim that the BBC quickly green-lighted a full series.
